Today marks the first day of prayer and preparation for Harvest Rally. Let us cast everything to our Lord who is faithful and good.

Day 1 – Brokenness and Repentance (16/01)

But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. - Isaiah 64:8

For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. -Psalms 51:16 – 17

Whenever a potter shapes the clay, he has a design specifically for that clay. When it is spoiled or deformed, the potter would reshape it according to the design he has.

In same way, God (the potter) is moulding us (the clay) at every moment of our lives and as humans we have defects due to our sin. Since God has a perfect design for us (to be like Jesus Christ), He would need to reshape us into a perfect vessel. He would reveal to us areas in our life which are displeasing to Him and teach us how to correct them.

When God reveals the sins in our life, are we willing to be broken and mouldable before God? Are we willing to forsake our ways to accept His design for each of us? David recognized that God does not delight in the offerings of praise or service to Him, but that God delights in people who are humble before Him.

The process of being moulded and perfected would be painful. Yet at the end when we look back, we can praise God for the perfection He is creating in our life!
